Had a major breakthrough on my international law paper, so I celebrated by writing fanfiction and then I thought you guys should benefit from my good day, so I’ve posted a plethora of previews! Additionally, I’ve rewritten the code for the previews page so that you can click on which preview you want (instead of an archive of all the posts on one page). Today’s previews come from: If I Don’t Try With You, the Liason prequel to Hand Me Down; snippets of Chapter Four of These Small Hours; and three snippets from three different chapters of A Few Words Too Many. I hope you enjoy them!

I haven’t posted any more of Daughters yet, I may do that later today, but I’m actually doing my paper for class. Just a few minor updates:

– I still have to post my distribution policy and whatnot, but in addition to posting a few of these stories at Return to Nowhere, the Liason message board, I also post at Fanfiction.net and Archive of Our Own, links for which lead to my profiles on those sites.

– Damaged has been updated with a nicer layout, but it’s still not quite where I wanted it to be. I added previews for the next episode, which is almost done and if I finish the last three scenes before Saturday, I’ll post it early.

– If at any time you find a typo or missing word, please comment on the post/page and let me know so I can fix it. I constantly click on random stories to check for accuracies, and am always finding more.

–  The poll and coming soon page have been updated to reflect the change in status for Damaged. If you’ve already voted for that story and are unable to change your vote (or you’ve voted in general for one story and can’t change it but want to), please comment with what you originally voted for and what you want instead, and I’ll use that for my own final tallies.

– A Few Words Too Many and Daughters will be updated tomorrow.

So the early response to my preview episode of Damaged was so great, it inspired me to spend part of yesterday finishing off the special website I set up for the story. It’s all ready to go, complete with cast information, storyline previews, and polls, so if you liked that episode, go find out what’s happening next! The next episode will be posted on Saturday, April 18 🙂

I’ve added Chapter Ten for Daughters, as well. I plan to come back later tonight and add some more chapters to Surviving the Past, but  I may get side tracked with writing my paper for class, so if not later tonight, then morrow.

Later Update:

I added Chapters 9-12 for Surviving the Past. I also did some maintenance on the Take Me By the Hand series. I noticed that some of scenes that were supposed to be italicized weren’t, so I fixed typos and added words that were missing, in addition to rewriting the intro to it.

Note: I am aware that now that I’ve finished Part I of A Few Words Too Many, and begun Part II, the chapters don’t link together. I am working on a fix through the awesome plugin I use, Organize Series, but it may take some time. So for the moment, I am going to add manual links to link Chapter Eight to Chapter Nine. I’ll keep you guys posted. It means I’ll have to do some PHP customization I’m not up at the moment 🙂

Because I have control issues. I have to be careful about posting too many of these chapters, mostly because if I keep posting extra ones, I’ll have finished posting the story. Which isn’t terrible, mind you, but neither Tangle nor These Small Hours are quite ready for posting, which means there will be a gap. Also, at some point in the next two weeks, I have to write that stupid paper and prepare that German presentation I keep procrastinating on. Oy. So this is it for bonus chapters. Probably.

You get nothing else until Thursday. Except maybe some of the abandoned stories. We’ll see. Ugh. I hate myself sometimes. No will power.

– Chapter 8 and 9 of A Few Words Too Many

So I took a three hour nap at 6 pm yesterday, and when I woke up at 9, I couldn’t get back to sleep until about 3:30 AM. During that time, I watched about five hours of my Liz and Lucky 1998 DVDs, and then I got the first episode of Damaged in my head. I realized about two weeks ago Damaged wasn’t going to be a normal story as I had too many ideas, so I’m just going to pretend GH is my show and I’m going to write it the way I want. So that being said, I wrote the first episode and have posted that as a preview for what I have in mind.

I hadn’t planned on posting another chapter of A Few Words Too Many today, but I hit such a great stride writing it last night that I wanted to celebrate a little 😛 I’ve finished the first parts of the story (which equal together, seventeen chapters) and only have seven left to write, so I may be peppering some extra chapters in every once in a while.

I also posted a new layout, but I’m not sure how much I like it. I’ll leave it around for a bit, but I may change my mind.

I plan to update again later with some site things and more chapters of Surviving the Past, so I’ll update this page at that point. Here are the additions so far:

Second Late Update:

I’m starting to merge The Lost Stories in their Short Stories category, specifically the General Short Stories and Episode Tags, which now have their own page. Also found one last 2006 short story located from my old board, set during the paternity mess I want to hurt very badly. So Mirrors is now located here.

I’ve completed the editing and revision process for Daughters, beyond typos, so I’ll be posting a chapter here once a day. I might not update the main page about it, except to couple it with another update.

Chapters Six & Seven for Daughters are now online.

I set up a page for the Lost Stories, and put up more explanation how they became lost, and what is still lost, as far I know. I think I still have three or four short stories to post in addition to the ones on this page.

Using the Internet Wayback Machine, I located about elevenish short stories that I wrote in 2002/03, including some interesting stories in which Brenda tortures Jason.  I haven’t figured out how to index them on this site, so I’ll just list them in the post until I figure out a better way.

I still have some short stories I located at Liason Underground, but there are also several abandoned chapter fics. Would you guys be interested in some of the stories I started, but never completed for some reason?

I intend to sleep in tomorrow and then work on my paper, so I’m doing my posting before I pass out for the night. A large update for you if you like that sort of thing. I decided to go ahead and post the lost fic, Surviving the Past, with a heavy background note regarding the history of the story and a caveat about story quality. There are very few stories from 2002 that don’t end up in my Fiction Graveyard, but this isn’t one of them. So, of that story, I posted the first four chapters.

I also posted Chapter Six of A Few Words Too Many. I’m really happy about the response to this story so far, and I can’t wait for you guys to read the rest of the story. I’ve written up to and including Chapter Fifteen, so my plan is to be finished it before I run out of chapters to post and have to work on a deadline 😛

I also posted Chapters Four & Five of Daughters. I have thirteen more chapters to repost before you get the final three chapters. Much of the later revisions are few typos and organizational details, so they’ll be coming a lot faster now, probably one or two a day.

So a few things today. I have three or four chapters ready of Daughters, I’ll probably post them later tonight if I’m up to it when I get home from the pub. The next chapter of a Few Words Too Many will be posted tomorrow morning.

I’ve posted a preview chapter of the rewritten Mad World, which came into my head as I was rewatching Elizabeth’s original rape storyline from 1998, making me fall in love with my originial Liz & Lucky. My first love was Lucky Spencer, and I never thought anyone else could be as perfect for her as he was. Of course, then they recasted him with Jacob Young and killed everything I ever loved about him over the next decade, but even before JY came around, I had already seen the beauty of Jason and Elizabeth, and like Elizabeth, I was ready to move past my own first love 😛

An awesome reader (Carla) answered my prayers, and sent me a copy of Surviving the Past, a fic I wrote back in September of 2002. I was going through a lot of things, and that story was my answer to dealing with some tough issues a friend was dealing with. It was a darker story, about surviving child abuse, and while there are things I might do differently if I wrote it today, it’s one of my few early stories I don’t want to set on fire. So if you’re interested in having me repost it (it’s over 25 chapters and it’s complete), let me know by replying to this. It’s a dark, and not always happy fic, but it’s close to my heart and I’m relieved to have it back in my possession.

By about June of 2003, I had written almost a hundred stories, most of them short little episode tags and short stories, and nearly half of them were lost in a combination of computer crash, domain data loss, and board bannings. If you ever come a cross a story that is not posted here, but is by me, let me know. I have a folder full of lost fics I need to add from Liason Undergound.
