Update Link: Dear Reader – Part 38

I mentioned last week that this week’s updates would be a bit off kilter because I’m supposed to get my wisdom teeth out tomorrow morning (Tues) and I know it’s incredibly unlikely I’ll be up to writing tomorrow. One of my students had it done earlier this year, and I checked in with her a lot — if my recovery schedule is anything like hers (let’s pray), I’ll probably be completely useless Tues/Wed, starting to feel better Thurs, almost sort of normal on Friday, and good to go by Monday.

Right now the plan is to update on Friday. I’m reserving the right to cancel that update if I don’t feel up to it. I’m starting daily updates next week, so you guys will just have to wait, lol. I find out on Wednesday if I have summer school, so the timing of next week’s updates will shift a bit. I do like the idea of 2PM writing, 3 PM posting just because 3PM is when GH airs for me, and I’d love to watch live more often this summer. It’s soooo good right now, and the recast Michael is just perfect. JJ left last week, and Liz is in spoilers again.

I know some of you guys are nervous about Kelly T coming back, but I’m choosing optimism. We don’t know if she’ll play Britt (Frank has a habit of just bringing people back as someone else), and we don’t know if they’d pair her with Jason. It’s just as likely that they’d pair her with Cody, who was brought on the show for her in the first place. Josh Kelly’s Cody is still hanging around, basically useless, lol. Everyone was super worried Jason would end up with Carly, and that never happened, so I’ve decided not to let myself get annoyed before I have to. There’s too much to celebrate. We have a sexy Michael who can actually act and command scenes, SAM IS DEADDDDDDD, Lucky is gone and they nailed the LL2 firmly shut this time, all the OLTL pets are gone, people hate each other and are slapping, just really good, lol.

Anyway, enough about the show 😛 I like the idea of writing while GH airs in other markets at 2PM EST, so I can stay spoiler free and watch on my own at 3PM (it still airs here in Philly at that time), so if I don’t have summer school, expect it to stay around that time period unless I have other things going on.

Update Link: Dear Reader – Part 37

No Phillies game tonight, so I updated a little later 🙂 We have one more day until summer break! And I get to leave the building with the kids tomorrow, yay for me! So summer starts around 1PM for me. I have to head back for graduation, but this year they remembered to get a black graduation robe for me to wear as part of the faculty (it was a whole thing last year lol) which means I get to sit and relax during the ceremony instead of doing gate duty.

Only had 2 failures out of 104 kids, which is pretty awesome 😛 One of the kids indicated she’s signing up for summer school, but I don’t know if they’ll have the class for just one kid. I’ll find out Wednesday for sure, so I’ll let you know. It’ll definitely just be one session, so we’ll build our schedule around that.

I’m going to sit down and figure out how many updates are left for Dear Reader. If I start updating daily on June 23 (which is the plan right now), I would imagine I’d be done sometime in mid-July. I’m working out what’s next, and I have some interesting plans, so stay tuned 😛

Update Link: Dear Reader – Part 35

Hello 🙂 Happy Tuesday! Two more full days for me, and then on Friday I’ll be released with the kids. I have to go back for graduation (though if there’s a rain out I might not have to lets cross our fingers love our seniors but I want to be DONE).

Some programming notes:

• Next week’s updates are likely Monday/Friday. I’m having my wisdom teeth out Tuesday morning, and I don’t want to promise anything earlier than Friday. If I feel better, I’ll do as many updates as I can.
• I’ll find out about summer school next week. If I had to guess, I probably won’t have it. I have no failures in French II (and I was tough on them this year, so way to go for them!) and only about 3-5 in French I. They’ll have summer school for as few as 3 kids, but I really don’t know if they’ll sign up. I mean, it’s good for me financially, but I also kind of want a break, lol.
• If I don’t have summer school, we’ll do last year’s schedule, updating daily M-F. If I have summer school, we’ll play it by ear.
• I finally have an ending in mind for Dear Reader, so I can plot the rest of the story more effectively. Definitely plan on seeing that story again in a year or so – I’m going to edit and flesh out a lot of it, I think it’s a pretty good ensemble with potential for more.
• With daily updates, Dear Reader will definitely be done sometime in July, so I’ll start thinking about what’s next. I have lots of ideas, so I’ll keep you guys in the loop.

Officially done with full-day classes! Next week is ALL early dismissal for the kids, AND my grades are like 95% done except for some lingering projects and tests from absences. AND NO LESSON PLANS NEXT WEEK! You have no idea how happy that makes me 🙂

Update: Dear Reader – Part 34

Ended up being a good thing that this update got delayed because I get to celebrate with you guys about 90 minutes after the news breaks that JONATHAN JACKSON IS LEAVING!!! His final scenes air next week. I also had been guessing he’d be out by end of the year anyway just based on the writing. Never dreamed it be so fast.

ANDDDDDD the news came out about Jason not being the father of Sasha’s baby, so our boy is finally free of that ridiculous story stall. The nuMichael is very pretty, he and Sasha sparkle. All good things my loves.

And possibly an episode tag coming your way this weekend, we’ll see 😛

Hey! I updated the Recent Updates page so it’s current again through Monday’s episode. Had some meetings at work the last two days that went longer than expected, so I’m rescheduling the update for tomorrow, Thursday, June 5.

I have two more full days of classes, and all grades will be done this Friday. Home stretch people!

Update: Dear Reader – Part 32

I really don’t know what happened to May. I feel like I’m at the end of every month or the beginning of the next saying I had such plans, lol. But we made it to the promised land, to JUNE. I have 9 days of school left, 4 of them are full and very nearly every grade will be done by Friday. Next week is all half days with the kiddos, with the afternoons for end of school stuff and cleaning out the room.

After we complete this marathon of Flash Fiction updates, I’m gonna redevote my energy to Book 3 of These Small Hours. I got off to a terrible start on the third book, lol. Mostly through time, energy, and illness.

Update Link: Dear Reader – Part 30

Happy Friday! It has been one of those weeks! I feel like I say that a lot, lol, but it really was. I got the mother of all colds at the beginning of the week and had to miss work, then scrambled to get back on schedule and caught up. Especially since months ago, I’d scheduled a personal day for Monday, June 2 because my birthday is tomorrow (May 31), and I reallly didn’t want to cancel it since it’s not like the days I missed this week were particularly pleasant or relaxing.

I feel terrible about promising a marathon and then missing half the days so far! So we’re kicking off a new marathon — starting today, and concluding Tuesday, June 3.

• Today (5/30) posting at 6:30 PM
• Saturday (5/31) between 2-4PM (just not sure because I’m floating a grocery store trip in my head tomorrow, but I also might not lol)
• Sunday (6/1) 11AM – 1PM (may go to my parents for the game, so it would be earlier)
• Monday (6/2) posting at 3PM
• Tuesday (6/3) posting at 6:30PM

Once I finish that marathon, we’ll go back to the Tues/Thurs schedule for a few weeks (but we have a wisdom teeth removal & curriculum writing and possibly summer school) We’ll play it by ear  🙂
