Welcome to Crimson Glass

This is a General Hospital fanfiction archive that concentrates on the pairing of Jason Morgan and Elizabeth Webber. You will also find a lot of stories that feature Sonny and Carly Corinthos, Patrick Drake and Robin Scorpio, and Nikolas Cassadine and Emily Quartermaine. The stories are written completely by me, Melissa (LissieLove) and features novels, short stories, and other GH-related material. It has been online since September 19, 2002.

If you don't like Jason and Elizabeth as a pairing or you have any fondness for the character of Franco, then you should probably click the back button and continue on your way. Happy travels. I hate Franco. He is a lying, violent, sociopathic piece of shit, and I hope this character gets yeeted into the sun. Thank you.

Hey, it’s been a minute since we updated this story 😛 But now that I’m fully recovered from Covid, all caught up at work, and FMT is fully edited, I can get back to my normal writing. I’ve already written a chapter of These Small Hours, and am halfway through a new one that I’m going to finish tonight.

The #Liason fans on Twitter are organizing a charity drive — Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) is having an ALS Daytime event in early May, and we’re raising money for a donation in our fanbase’s name. Let’s show them we can do more than just rent billboards (though that was pretty sick!)

GH has been great the last few days! The new HW are officially in control and Monday’s episode was the best Elizabeth scenes we’ve had in YEARS. She’s on again tomorrow — and BOTH episodes were unspoiled, so that’s really awesome for her. I’m really hoping the new HW value Becky. Both of these episodes have her away from that horrible Finn, and she’s in the Jason story now. Love this for us!

See you on Friday for an FMT update!

Campaign Link: Time To Write For Jason & Elizabeth

Hello! Happy Monday! This is my last full week before Spring Break starts next Thursday. I know I just had a few days off, but Covid kind of ruins any of the fun of not being in work.

finally finished editing Book 2! I posted the full PDFs in the digital shop — Book 2 on its own, and a combined Book 1 & 2 PDF. Both are $5. Crimson Devoted and above Patreons get the books for free. They’ll both be free in July — none of my finished products ever remain permanently behind a paywall. (If you read the OG alpha draft in July, I hope you’re happy with how far it’s come!) All that’s left is scheduling chapters, which I’ll be doing off and on over the next few weeks.

I’ll be throwing myself into finishing These Small Hours, so I can start editing it and have it ready for summer release. It’s going to be weird not having FMT taking up all my thoughts for a while (though I’ll be diving back in as soon as Hours is completed). I’m excited to get back to a different time period.

Flash Fiction updates are going to shift again — we’re in baseball season starting NEXT week! First day of spring break, first game! It’ll still be on Wednesdays, but the time will shift — anywhere from posting at 5 PM EST to 9 PM EST, at least until June 13. I’ll keep you guys updated as we move into the season.

We’re starting a new campaign for Jason and Elizabeth, sending pencils to the execs and writers 😛 Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte officially took over with March 15’s episode, but I know there’s a lot of mess to clean up from the previous writers — it’ll be a while before we can really see what their vision is. I hope their vision includes our couple sharing screen time together 😛

Fool Me TwiceSeries of Table Contents | Chapter 46
Other Updates: The Last Time | folklore

Hope everyone had a great week! I got back to work, and I’m so glad I took it slow and avoided direct instruction as best as I could. I think I’ll be good to go next week, and then before you know it, it’ll be spring break! (March 28)

I should finish cleaning up Fool Me Twice’s posting draft this weekend, which will be a huge relief to put this one in the finished column, so I can get back to These Small Hours. Book 2 is a bit more ensemble than Book 1. It’s kind of like Mad World — Book 1 was very focused on our core characters, but the storyline is rippling out, gradually drawing in more characters and more story threads (the way they’re supposed to!) So I hope you’re enjoying this broader look at the other people in this world. It was a huge challenge writing Lucky and Britt, but I just fell in love with writing their storyline, and I’m really looking forward to editing their scenes in Book 3, and seeing where they go. I’m also interested in seeing what you guys think of them. I know neither of them are very popular characters, lol, but I had fun pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

I would love to come back this weekend with a Flash fiction update. I miss writing Hits Different and I want to make up those two missed updates, so I can finish on time. But either way, I’ll see you on Monday.

Fool Me TwiceSeries of Table Contents | Chapter 45
Other Updates: The Last Time | folklore

Hope you’re having a good week. I went back to work yesterday, and I came home exhausted, but today is a half day so that’s good for me. And I spent time moving around some assignments so that this was mostly independent work for the rest of the week. I don’t know that I’m up to direct instruction quite yet. I’m so happy to be done with my Covid meds — they interact with my TMJ med, so I couldn’t take that for a week. That always ends up with migraines and terrible sleep, so I get to start them again today.

Flash Fiction will be back for sure next week, and I’m hoping to double up on the weekends during April (and Spring break!) but I also have to make a dental appointment and I’m pretty sure there’s a chance I have to get my wisdom teeth out. If it’s not one thing, it’s another. But I’m just trying to take things one step at a time.

I got back into editing FMT and made a lot of progress. Just about halfway through cleaning up the typos and last minute tweaks (mostly just adjusting dialogue, no scene level changes). I’ll see you guys for an update on Friday!

Fool Me TwiceSeries of Table Contents | Chapter 43 | Chapter 44
Other Updates: The Last Time | folklore

Hello 🙂 I’m scheduling this update on Sunday just to make sure it’s ready. I’m finally starting to feel better physically, but I’m worried about going back to work on Tuesday. I just know the kids are going to be going to be off the walls because I’ve never been out three days in a row before (I’ve never even been out TWO days). I can’t even begin to think what my desk looks like. AND I have conferences on Wednesday night, so I’m just — yikes.

Anyway. I decided to be realistic with my time and my energy. I’m really sorry, but I’m just not going to get to Flash Fiction at all from last week or this upcoming week. I pushed myself to get the #Liason week stories out (I cannot believe I was literally up until 11 PM working on The Last Time the night before I tested positive for Covid — like, what.) I posted four chapters of a new novel, 17 short stories and 30k of a short story — I think I can forgive myself for skipping two updates. I’m replacing it with an update of FMT instead.

Not only am I going to be stupidly behind at work, I lost a lot of time editing FMT chapters (the final round of typos I was going to finish up this weekend), so I want to spend this week working on that so I can FINALLY just schedule the chapters and move on with my life and other projects, especially focusing on These Small Hours.

I hope you guys are enjoying Fool Me Twice so far. I’m not getting a lot of hits on it here or at FF.net yet, so I guess I’m a little nervous that maybe I waited too long to continue the series and people have lost interest in this. The rest of the series won’t take nearly as long, and I definitely want feedback from you guys since it’s such an ensemble heavy story. Anyway, I hope you remember to use the thumbs up to let me know you were here and read the chapter 🙂

Hey! I went to the doctor yesterday morning and got my Covid diagnosis confirmed. I was hoping I’d feel better by the end of the day to write, but I really wasn’t. So I decided to schedule FMT chapters and post a second chapter I wasn’t planning on. Plus, Chapter 42 has preview snippets from next week!

I have to update my Recently Update page but I’m still not feeling great. The fever keeps coming and going, but I feel better now than I did this morning. Hopefully after some more rest (I didn’t sleep well last night but I stocked up on meds today).

If I’m feeling better tonight, I’ll come back for Flash Fiction, but I definitely expect something this weekend. I hope. I’m out of work through Monday, so I’ve got some time to rest and recharge.

See you when I see you!

Update Link: The Last Time

I hope no one is disappointed, but I’m postponing Flash Fiction. I have a low grade fever and what feels like a nasty cold coming on, so I decided to just take the night off (and call out tomorrow). That being said, I was planning to release this story tomorrow anyway, so we’ll just switch 😛

Heath Update, 9:52 PM: I tested positive for Covid on a home test, and am going to a doctor tomorrow to confirm. Hopefully it’s mild and getting some meds in me tomorrow will sort things out, but obviously Flash Fic may end up being pushed.

You didn’t think the surprises were done this week, did you? The Liason fanbase continued our Billboard celebration with TWO more mobile billboards. More than 900 fans contributed to this project! Don’t forget you can also buy Liason Anniversary mugs, with $2 of each sale going to The Smile Train, and one of our lovely leaders, Teri, is matching funds up to $500, so let’s show everyone how amazing this fanbase is!

And that brings me to my continued contributions with the first “single” from my Crimson Swift: Red collection. You might remember The Last Time from my 2022 Summer Flash Fiction series. I ended up putting it on hiatus for a few reasons, one of which was that it dealt with Alan’s death, and I was writing at the same time my friend passed from cancer, so I really just needed to take a break.

But it was a natural choice to join the Red collection as the “featured” story (the longest story by far — it’s 30k!). I’ve cleaned up and edited Scenes 1-36, and then finished writing scenes 37-57. I hope you enjoy!

I’ll see you tomorrow for Flash Fiction, and then on Friday for more Fool Me Twice. And maybe, just maybe, there may be a surprise or two up my sleeve this weekend. We’re celebrating the return of Liason in style, and I’m eager to do my part!

In Case You Missed Itfolklore, a Taylor Swift inspired short-story collection with a story for each track.

Hey!! I’m popping in with a rare double email today because I’m just so excited about the celebration we kicked off today!

FIRST, we’re selling Liason mugs with $2 of every sale going to charity. Check them out!  We sent mugs to Steve, Becky, Hudson, the writers, the execs at GH, ABC AND Disney!

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, a group of us go together and planned a mobile billboard! It went to Prospect Park (the GH studios), ABC, and Disney exec offices, and traveled to other places in LA!

Stay tuned! We have an awesome year ahead of us!!

Why I’m Excited for Jason’s Return — At Least Right Now

*waves frantically* This might be one of the most exciting and hotly anticipated days for Liason fans since October 2017 when our couple had that amazing reunion at the PCPD lockup. If you’re a regular viewer of the show, you know Jason’s last return was not well-received due to TERRIBLE writing, but everyone mostly agrees that the only relationship that wasn’t torched was with Elizabeth and Jake. In fact, Jason and Elizabeth were sharing scenes together in July, and he was planning to hide another dead body for her.

Plus!!! Jason’s return is being penned ENTIRELY by our new head writers, Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte. I know Korte is known as a Carly fan, but she also used to be known as an amazing Elizabeth writer — along with Michelle Val Jean, Korte CREATED Liason — it was her idea to put them together. And Patrick was a writer back in the late 90s — he penned several of our favorite early Liason scenes like the park after they met at Jake’s and the lucky quarter episode.

AAAND there’s a spoiler that an old face from the past shows up on Liz’s doorstep — we know from spoiler pictures that Jason is going to be in a gun fight — is it SO far-fetched to speculate that just maybe our HW are mining Liason history?

Now of course, my excitement could fade, but I loved this couple for half my life, so there’s no reason not to get a little excited right now 😛 PLUS YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW THE BEST PART — Liason fans have planned a HUGE surprise for Steve’s first air date. Stay tuned on Twitter around 9 AM today (March 4) and follow our anniversary tag #25YearsOfLiason! I’ll post more info on Wednesday when I do Flash Fiction.

Taylor Swift Short Story Collections

Yesterday, I did a surprise “album” drop, posting a collection 17 short stories, each one inspired by a Taylor Swift song from folklore, the album she surprised us in July 2020. If you missed it, I’ve linked it above.

I plan to write a collection for each one of her albums, but I probably won’t do an entire collection at a time — this was special because I was launching the series and because of Steve’s return. I’m not really sure how to approach the other 9 albums (soon to be 10). Doing one album at a time, doing whatever song inspires me, etc. I’ll play it by ear for now, but it was a lot of fun and kind of crazy to be keeping this a secret from all by the top tier Patreons for the last two weeks. If you have any idea for any songs, please feel free to let me know!!

Fool Me Twice & These Small Hours

AND FINALLY, we get to the reason I’m posting today! I took a bit of a break from other projects to get this done, so I’m going back to finishing my posting draft edit (all of March’s chapters are good to go) for Fool Me Twice Book 2 and the alpha draft for These Small Hours. I hope you think the break was worth it 😛

I’m beyond excited to be launching Book 2 on the day Steve returns, and a little sad I won’t get to see the Jason/Drew relationship I wrote in Book 2 (and 3!). Billy’s loss is profound, and the Drew recast is awful. But I’m glad our Drew lives on in stories and in our memories.

Chapters will be posted on Mondays and Fridays. Sometimes 2, sometimes 1. It just depends on the chapter I’m posting that week and where I want to leave you for cliffhangers 😛

Update Link: folklore

For the last two weeks, I have been feverishly working on absolutely insane project and I’ve finished just in time! Steve returns tomorrow, and what better way for me to celebrate the potential return of our couple than with 17 short stories!

Each story was inspired by lyrics from Taylor Swift’s folklore, and I very much wanted this first “album” drop to be just like how Taylor gave us the album back in 2020 out of nowhere, completely done and launched. I’m planning to do a short story collection for each album, but more on that when we talk later tomorrow with Fool Me Twice.

told you March was going to be wild!
