Welcome to Crimson Glass

This is a General Hospital fanfiction archive that concentrates on the pairing of Jason Morgan and Elizabeth Webber. You will also find a lot of stories that feature Sonny and Carly Corinthos, Patrick Drake and Robin Scorpio, and Nikolas Cassadine and Emily Quartermaine. The stories are written completely by me, Melissa (LissieLove) and features novels, short stories, and other GH-related material. It has been online since September 19, 2002.

If you don't like Jason and Elizabeth as a pairing or you have any fondness for the character of Franco, then you should probably click the back button and continue on your way. Happy travels. I hate Franco. He is a lying, violent, sociopathic piece of shit, and I hope this character gets yeeted into the sun. Thank you.

Update Blog

April 25, 2014

So, as a recap to some of the social media whatnot that I’ve been posting over the last few days:

1. Please see this post to find out how you can read the unposted chapters of A Few Words as part of the full novel in ebook format.

2. Head over  to vote and rename Tangle!

3. Please don’t forget to visit us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter, because sometimes I update Twitter with writing bits and I try to update both with major updates.

4. And finally, read A Few Words Too Many: Chapter 19 and begin to forgive me for what I’ve put you through.

April 24, 2014

fewwordsSo I just finished designing an ebook version of A Few Words Too Many. It’s published in .epub format and you can take the novel with you offline, put it on your ereader or read it on your computer. There are a ton of computer programs you can read it on (my personal favorite is Adobe Digital Editions, which is free).

I was so insanely happy with how my first foray into the ebook industry worked that I almost posted it for you guys now…and then, haha. I remembered there are six chapters I haven’t posted yet.

BUT! Because you guys have been just generally awesome, I want to do something to show my appreciation. You guys comment and you vote, and you always have such lovely things to say. It really makes a girl want to write. So…if you comment on this post, you’ll be entered into a contest to win an exclusive advance copy. Which means you’ll get the ending before ANYONE else! Does that sound like fun?

So when you comment, make sure you leave your name and email so I can email you if you win. I’ve got a plugin that will pick a random winner, so it could be anyone! In the body of your comment, why don’t you let me know which other story I have you might want to see in ebook format, like The Witness or I Shall Believe.

CONTEST ENDS Saturday 26 April 2014 at 7PM EST

So I’m not the best at naming stories, haha. I named Tangle in 2008, before I even knew what I was going to do with it. And I haven’t liked it since about Chapter 3, six years ago.  So before I relaunch the rewritten version, I want to rename it. But again, I suck at naming stuff. Ha. Anyway.

Here’s a brief preview of what story is going to be about to help your poll choice. There are no spoilers below, as all this information would be revealed in Chapter 1.

Set in 2024. Elizabeth disappeared with a trace in November 2010, leaving Jason to raise their three children (Cam, Jake and Juliet) by himself, though he’s been assisted by their large extended family.

Lucky Spencer, divorced from Sam and sharing custody of their pre-teen daughter, has never given up on Elizabeth’s case, vowing to find out what happened to her, even if it it’s just to put her at rest. Once a year, he looks into her case, trying to find an angle he’s never investigated before. He discovers a serial killer who abducted petite brunettes from Virginia, West Virginia and southern Pennsylvania during the time period Elizabeth vanished. It’s a long shot, but he’s grasping at straws after nearly fourteen years.

Nadine and Johnny had a vicious and bitter divorce after he slept with Lulu Spencer, and their daughter Amalia is often caught between the middle, as a pawn. Robin and Carly have joined reluctant forces to raise Elizabeth’s children with all the love and devotion she would have given them herself.

Cam and Morgan return from a sojourn to Europe to spend the summer in Port Charles, surrounded by their closest friends and family, which includes Jake and Juliet, Morgan’s sister Cece; Mal Drake, Molly Lansing, and Kristina Davis.

So, my ideas for titles are in the poll below. If you hate them all, just comment and let me know. I hope to post this story in the next three weeks, so hopefully I’ve got it renamed by then.

So after many many moons (eight and a half years), the final chapter of Daughters is completed. For the first time since I think began writing GH fanfiction, my alternate universe section has no in progress stories. Illusions doesn’t count as it’s on hiatus and backburnered for the foreseaable future.

I’ve also updated A Few Words Too Many with two chapters, because if you read Chapter 17 and Chapter 18 wasn’t there to read, people might set me on fire.  I’m going to be working on my paper the rest of the day, but I’ll probably take breaks, which is why I’m going to be working on whatever story my muse is in the mood for. Hopefully, I’ll write the majority of what’s left of my paper today, finish it tomorrow, and then spend the weekend on my German presentation.

Next week, one of my favorite people from back home in Philly is coming to see us in London, and she’ll be here until May 11, so between that and my German written final, I’m not sure how much I’ll be writing. Plus I have a dissertation conference to prepare for, but hey, look at all the writing I’ve managed to do with classes, trips, and papers 😛

Daughters: Chapter 19 – Completed
A Few Words Too Many: Chapter 17 and Chapter 18

April 23, 2014

I’ll post the last chapter of Daughters tomorrow, as well as a double update of Few Words. Once you read Chapter 17 for FWTM, you’ll understand why I couldn’t even wait 24 hours for people to read the next one. I’d bet set on fire.

I spent most of yesterday arguing with the first paragraph of my paper yesterday, but then I took a break for about an hour and worked on Damaged. I updated the About Page, the Introduction Cast Page, added a Current Cast Page, and then posted a new poll. For more explanations, check out the post at the site.

On this site, I just updated the widgets, to separate completed shories from recently updated ones. There are some sections I want to work when I get the chance, particularly the Media and Online section. I also added a new April/May story status post.

Not going to be a long ramble today 🙂 I finished Daughters last night, so that’s one more story off the drawing board. I’m not focusing on anything else this week as I’m down to the wire on school projects, so if anything gets worked on, it’s incidental and not on purpose. Once next Monday passes, I’ll only have written German exam and my dissertation for the next four months, my time will be back to loose and fun 😛

Daughters: Chapter 17
A Few Words Too Many: Chapter 15

April 21, 2014

pastThis will be the last large update for the forseeable future (unless someone unearths one of my other longer stories that are still missing, see The Fiction Graveyard for what I still know to be missing).  Thanks to the amazing people who apparently thought my writing was good enough to save and the fact that few things on the Internet are ever completely lost, I have gone a long way towards reconstructing my entire writing portfolio. There are some probably some short stories still missing and three completed longer fics for sure, but for the most part, everything is here. So, this is the last time multiple chapters for multiple fics will be added. From now, one it’ll be one, maybe two a day.

I decided to just suck it up and post the last eight chapters of Surviving the Past, so that I’m daughtersnot driving people nuts.  The story is completely up and posted, flaws and cheesy lines 😛 Thanks again to Carla for saving it, and then sending it on to me. I will be forever grateful.

Just before midnight last night, I wrote the words THE END at the end of Chapter 24 for A Few Words Too Many. I’ll put more in my author’s note at the point I post the last chapter, but it was bittersweet to finish it. Few Words convinced me, more so than Shadows, that I could still write Liason fanfiction despite what the show has done to this couple.

toomanyWhat’s next? I still have to write the last two chapters of Daughters, but I suspect I’ll find the time to do that while on break from papers and presentations this week. I’m also working on the plotting for Damaged. I may have posted the story a bit too precipitously, as I want to rework some the episode outlines I’ve put together, so Episode 3 may be delayed. I’m also storyboarding Mad World, in preparation to begin posting it in June 2014.

These Small Hours and Tangle are the next two stories I’ll be posting simulataneously, but they’re not very far ahead, so it’s a good thing it’ll take me two weeks to finish posting Daughters & Few Words, so that I can get a few more chapters ahead on both.

madworldHey! Another large update today 🙂  I’ve decided to close the poll asking visitors to vote which story they want to read next because the votes are basically in and the numbers haven’t moved. So, the top three stories were Mad World (21 votes), The Best Thing (19 votes) and Counting Stars (12 votes). Once A Few Words Too Many and Daughters are finished, I’ll be focusing on Tangle, These Small Hours and Mad World.

It’s easier for me, in some respects, to have more than one story going at once since what I want to write depends on my mood, and these three stories are set in completely different time periods (Mad World is 2004, These Small Hours is 2008 and Tangle is 2008-2024).

daughtersI had a major break through with Words last night, and finished all but the last chapter, which I plan to do today and tomorrow. So I’m going to go ahead and continue posting that once a day.

I’m almost finished with the last two chapters of Daughters–I intend to juggle working on that in with the next episode of Damaged, but both might be slightly delayed as I have a major paper and presentation due next week.  I’ll be posting one chapter of Daughters a day until I either complete it or run out of chapters, at which point there may be a gap. (More likely to be a gap as I only have two chapters left to post, and Chapter 18 isn’t quite finished.)

I’ve also added the next four chapters of Surviving the Past 🙂past

Daughters: Chapter 15

April 19, 2014

I kpastnow, I’ve really sucked at getting Surviving the Past all updated and finished on this site. I added four more chapters today, and *fingers crossed* I intend to post four more tomorrow, and so on. It’s the plan, anyway.  I feel bad for readers who keep getting to the last chapter posted after seeing I’ve marked it as complete on the AU page and they’re like, yo, dude. Knock this nonsense off you, beyotch. Fair enough 😛

I also updated Daughters, and I am pleased to inform people who care (and even those of you who daughtersdon’t) that I am halfway finished Chapter 19, and the the final chapter is more of an epilogue montage which the most gorgeous song. I wasn’t sure how I was going to end it, until I was walking to breakfast today (FYI! If you live in London, please find your nearest Breakfast Club location, it is absolutely divine) and Family Tree by Matthew West came on my Spotify. And it…said it all.

Matthew West – Family Tree

Also added: new chapters of A Few Words Too Many. I’m going to go ahead with the new plan to post once a day because I simply can’t not post it now that we’re into the good stuff. As I posted the other day, I’m very nearly finished writing it overall.

I added two new polltoomanys. One, which we’re calling Resurrect A Story, in which you get to see the summaries for stories I abandoned for one reason or another over the years and vote for which one you’d like me to pull out and rewrite the frick out of, but finish. The second is almost useless, in which I ask readers if they want me to start labeling stories by word count, so you know going in whether you’re readig a ficlet (0-5000 words), a novelette (5001-1300), a novella (13001-50000) or a novel (50000 +).

I know you just want me to link to your updates, but, ha, what would you do with your day if you didn’t have my ramblings to enjoy?

A Few Words Too Many: Chapter 12

So this is something I’ve been considering off and on about my completed stories, and even the planned ones. Every once in a while, I get an idea that isn’t really a short story, but it won’t be a full-length one with lots of chapters. I generally write long short stories, between 10-21,000 words if I’m not writing 1500 or massive 100,000 word stories.

But sometimes, I think readers click on a story with a summary that they’re looking forward to, only to learn it’s a short story of no more than 20,000 words. For example, First Do No Harm is 12, 258 words long, and those of you who’ve read it, know it’s because it’s about a specific plot that is resolved, but the relationships aren’t.

So my question is: Would you prefer if I came up with a way to organize my stories so that you know going in how long they are? For example, if I labeled stories like A Few Words Too Many (currently clocking in at 101, 224 words) as a novel, stories like Shadows at 20, 921 words as novellas and First Do No Harm and If I Don’t Try With You as novelettes, while keeping anything under 5,000 word count in the short stories section.

Click yes if this something you’d like. and click no if you don’t want it, but also if you don’t care. It wouldn’t take a lot of work, but if it’s honestly something that only concerns me, I’m not really going to worry about it 😛
